Administration

Landscape and Garden Care. Tends the church’s lawns, beds, and plantings so that our grounds are beautiful and welcoming to all who arrive. Volunteers help with seasonal planting, weeding, watering, and general upkeep, working at a pace that fits the season.

Logistics and Facilities Maintenance. Keeps our building safe, clean, and ready for ministry through minor repairs, supply restocking, and setup and cleanup for worship and events. Volunteers lend practical skills and willing hands to care for the space God has given us.

Fellowship Planning Team. Plans and prepares our shared meals and gatherings, from congregational dinners to seasonal celebrations. Volunteers coordinate food, setup, and hospitality so that the church can gather around the table in joy.

Outreach and Missions

Guest Hospitality Team. Welcomes everyone who walks through our doors, greeting guests, offering coffee and refreshments, and helping newcomers feel known and at home. Volunteers also help connect guests to the life of the church through follow-up and friendly conversation.

Outreach Team. Helps Living Faith become visible and inviting to our neighbors through community events, invitational efforts, and storytelling. Volunteers assist with promotion, hospitality at outreach events, and sharing the story of what God is doing among us.

Local Missions Team. Serves our neighbors in need through ongoing partnerships such as Warm Blessings and Family Scholar House. Volunteers prepare and serve meals, pack snack bags, and offer hands-on care that reflects Christ’s love in our community.

Global Missions Team. Connects our congregation to God’s work around the world through partnerships, projects, and giving. Volunteers help with efforts such as Christmas Boxes for Appalachia, the Owsley County reading and supply drives, and our partnership with the church in Fez.

Spiritual Formation

Kids’ Ministry Team. Nurtures the faith of our children through teaching, play, and care in a safe and joyful environment. Volunteers lead and assist with weekly classes and seasonal events, helping children experience the love of God.

Nursery Team. Cares for our youngest children with warmth and attentiveness so that parents can worship with peace of mind. Volunteers provide a loving, secure space for infants and toddlers during worship and gatherings.

Worship and Wonder. Guides young children into the stories of Scripture through a reflective, hands-on approach to worship and wonder. Volunteers prepare the space and gently lead children in encountering God through story and response.

Youth Ministry Team. Walks alongside our youth in grades six through twelve as they grow in faith, friendship, and leadership. Volunteers mentor, chaperone, and help lead gatherings, retreats, and service opportunities.

BLAST Simple Supper Team. Prepares and serves the shared meal that gathers children, youth, and families for our midweek BLAST ministry. Volunteers cook, set up, and clean up so that everyone can come to the table before learning and fellowship.

Adult Growth Group Facilitators. Lead small groups where adults grow in faith through study, conversation, and prayer. Facilitators guide discussion, care for group members, and help cultivate community around God’s Word.

Congregational Care

Visitation Team (Homebound, Hospital). Brings the presence and care of the church to members who are homebound or hospitalized. Volunteers visit, pray, and stay connected with those who cannot gather with us, ensuring no one is forgotten.

Practical Support Team (Meals, Rides). Offers tangible help to members facing illness, loss, or new seasons such as the birth or adoption of a child. Volunteers provide meals, transportation, and other practical care when needs arise.

Ordinance Support Team (Communion, Baptism). Prepares with reverence for the celebration of Communion and Baptism, setting up elements and materials and assisting with cleanup. This team handles preparation; the serving of the elements in worship is carried out by the Offering and Communion Servers.

Intercessory Prayer Team. Upholds the congregation, its ministries, and the wider world in prayer. Volunteers pray faithfully for requests shared by the church, interceding in private and, as invited, during worship.

Worship

Praise Team. Leads the congregation in sung worship through vocals and instruments. Volunteers rehearse and serve regularly, helping the church lift its voice to God with skill and heart.

Choir. Offers musical leadership and special anthems that enrich our worship across the Christian year. Volunteers rehearse together and sing in services, adding beauty and depth to congregational worship.

Readers and Presenters. Proclaim Scripture and lead spoken elements of worship with clarity and reverence. Volunteers read lessons, offer prayers, and present other parts of the service that help shape our gathered worship.

Worship Tech Team. Supports worship behind the scenes through sound, slides, and livestream. Volunteers operate equipment and prepare visuals so that everyone, present and online, can fully participate in worship.

Offering and Communion Servers. Assist in the gathering of the offering and the serving of Communion, helping these moments move with order and grace. The elements they serve are made ready by the Ordinance Support Team.
