Olive Branch Ministries is one of Living Faith’s most tangible partnerships because it meets neighbors in moments of real crisis and walks with them toward stability and wholeness. Olive Branch’s mission is clear: “Transitioning families and individuals from crisis to wholeness by sharing the peace of Christ’s presence.” Led by CBF field personnel Scarlette Jasper, Olive Branch serves people across areas of persistent poverty in Kentucky and nearby Tennessee, with a focus that includes families in medical crisis, survivors of domestic violence, unhoused neighbors, the elderly and disabled, and households facing food and financial insecurity.
Living Faith is proud that our church helped start the Christmas Boxes for Appalachia effort, which has grown into a signature ministry shared with many congregations. Since 2014, Olive Branch Ministries and Scarlette Jasper have coordinated the collection and distribution of these boxes to children and families in some of the poorest counties in the region. In recent years, that work has reached nearly 4,000 boxes in a single season, a reminder of how many people show up when compassion is organized and sustained.
This partnership reflects the heart of the gospel we want to live: practical mercy, patient accompaniment, and a deep conviction that no one is disposable. As we support Olive Branch, we are investing in a ministry that helps people take the next faithful step from crisis toward hope, with the steady promise that Christ’s peace is not theoretical, it is for real life.
