Church Covenant
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, having publicly professed our faith in Him, and having been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we joyfully enter into covenant with each other as one body in Christ.
With God’s help, we promise to walk together as brothers and sisters in Christ, seeking together to live a life worthy of God’s calling, humble and gentle in spirit, patient with each other, showing tolerance for each other in Christ’s love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. We commit to serve one another faithfully—praying for one another, bearing one another’s burdens, encouraging one another, forgiving one another, aiding one another in sickness and distress, and finding joy in the Christlikeness of others.
Believing that this church is one of God’s instruments to reach a lost world, we promise to promote and sustain its worship, ordinances, doctrines, and disciplines and to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of its ministry and mission.
Further, we commit ourselves to seek the salvation of all members of our family and our acquaintances and to educate them about the teachings of Jesus. We surrender our lives to Christ’s lordship, pledging to be Christlike in our dealings and proactive in resisting all evils, excesses, and abuses, which corrupt our body as God’s temple. We promise to be faithful in our commitments and zealous in our efforts toward the advancement of the kingdom of God throughout the world.
