Living Faith’s partnership with the Baptist World Alliance connects our congregation to a truly global Baptist family. Founded in 1905, the BWA is a worldwide communion of Baptists, bringing together member conventions and unions across many regions, languages, and histories. Today, the BWA describes itself as a global network of Baptists in 138 countries and territories, representing more than 53 million baptized believers and about 180,000 churches. Under the leadership of General Secretary and CEO Rev. Dr. Elijah M. Brown, the BWA helps Baptists recognize one another as partners in Christ’s mission, not competitors, and to practice unity without erasing local distinctiveness.
That shared mission becomes concrete through the BWA’s core ministry priorities. The Alliance organizes its work around worship and unity, mission and evangelism, aid and community development, religious freedom and human rights, and theological reflection and leadership development. In a world where many Christians face pressure, discrimination, or violence, the BWA has strengthened religious freedom monitoring and advocacy across the countries where its member bodies serve. The BWA also continues to call Baptists toward active discipleship and collaborative witness, including the Acts 2 Movement launched in 2025 as a renewed invitation to pray, serve, and share Christ together worldwide.
When Living Faith supports the BWA, we are choosing a wider horizon. We are standing with Baptists around the world in faithful witness, compassionate service, and courageous advocacy, trusting that the Spirit can knit together a global communion for the good of our neighbors and the glory of Christ.
